Default lower balljoint / knuckle

hey guise (lol) quick question...

on the castle nut area (94 civic) where the grease packet is....
i just replaced my lower ball joint thing (idk what its called) and i put on a new grease packet and packed the **** out of it with grease. now i was just wondering... i just drove my car today and there seemed to be some grease on my rim... is everything going to be okay? i hand tightened the castle nut really well and then put the cotter pin through, so i'm not concerned about that... but i was wondering why is there grease coming off? is it just residue or should i be more concerned?

If you put the castle nut and codder pin in then I would expect that there wouldnt be anything to worry about but you might want some more opinions.

it is not uncommon for excess grease to squirt out of a new ball joint, or one that has been recently greased.
