Default ITR stock lowering springs, which is which (front and rear).

Which spring is the Front and which is the lower? I thought the longer one is the rear and the shorter one is the front.

can you guys confirm that?

Hmm...For some reason, I think the long one is for the front and the short one is for the rear. I'll double check tonight when I get home.

Short=front
Long=rear
You can confirm that by checking the bottom of the spring.

Actually, I just installed my ITR springs and...

Short = rear
Long = front

Wrong, the rear springs are shorter. The rears are progressive springs (tighter coils on top).

OP - Sorry if I provided the wrong info.

I'm curious now??? When I first installed the shorter springs on the front, after lowering the car it was pretty low (I mean no gap). So, I went ahead and swapped the springs front to rear and ended up with the longer ones in the front and the shorter ones in the rear?

In this pic, I know the springs are compressed, but it looks to me like the longer ones are in the front and the shorter ones are in the rear.

FWIW - I'm not trying to argue, I just want to make sure I put the springs on the right way also.

As it stands right now, my springs/shocks look just like the ones in the pics above. So, I'll keep it as-is. Like I said, when I put the shorter springs up front, the car had literally no gap.

Ok, so the Longer springs are for the front and the shorter springs are for the rear?

That would make sense I guess after looking at this picture. I just installed the ITR springs on my Koni Yellows going on my 2000 GSR.

I had to use spring compressors on the rear springs to get the top hat on and nuts on. The fronts have about 1.5inch space in them seen in the picture at the top.

The perches on my Koni's are set on the lowest perch.

TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Make sure to look at those paint marks to ID an ITR spring as well

LONGER=Grey Blue Purple spring is the FRONT

Shorter=Blue Green Purple is the REAR the rear also has the strip of rubber near the tops of the spring

To everyone that misinformed get your facts straight (esp the OGs) I'm sure him and everyone else that was mislead and had to swap springs is very happy with you.

This is how it should be:

Thank You very much. So indeed I do have them on backwards. lol. that explains why i could NOT get the rear shocks on.

Yeah, if you search through the archives for "OEM spring" in the ITR forum and whatnot theres some good info, apparently a bunch forgot. I also went and double checked on my 100% oem ITR suspension (off the car) thats never been tampered with and its the same way.
