Default FLYWHEEL CLUTCH QUESTION

wuts up everyone...

so i've heard all the good and bad about the flywheels out there. some say you can go too lite. some say you can't go lite enough....so my question to everyone is:

anyone done the ACT prolite 8.8lb flywheel on there 99 si (em1)? and ..has anyone done the ACT streetlite 12lb flywheel on there 99 si??

i dont plan on too much heavy artilery for my civic...as of now its just got chipped p28, 2 1/4" straight piping w/ es muffler. jdm type-r headers, and a CAI. to be honest...it moves pretty dam good for a si. but my oem clutch is goin out and im prob gonna run the Excedy Stage 1 organic clutch set up.
just trying to get some better feedback on the flywheel situation before i purchase one...

any and all replies are welcome.....thanks H-tech...

From what ive heard, the 12lb flywheel is perfect.... Not to light but not heavy.... I know if its too light then you will have idle problems, and reving problems...... NOT %100 sure , but I think you can lose power from too light of a flywheel

A flywheel will not change your engine's power output.

The best flywheel weight is personal preference. If you don't mind the more rapid change in engine speed, then the lighter the better. Keep in mind that it will store less energy, so you will have to launch at a higher engine speed.

right on. i know it won't change the power output...im just worried that going with the 8.8 its gonna be a constant battle to get the car to move from the start.

from what i've heard so far...ya you gotta rev higher in first...but how bad is the lag i'm wondering?? and is it only 1st gear that is a bitch...??

thnx again everyone...
