Default Door actuator test, questions (reading off of a integra service manual)

My power door locks arent working so i want to test my door actuators. The manual im reading says i should apply power to one pin of a connector and ground to another. Now, my question is should i find a wire that is a 12v input, and tap power from that then connection the ground wire to the chassis?

-ps. (im talking about the 6-P connector from the door actuators, thanks!)

Yes, use a 9volt battery or cordless drill battery (9.6volt or 12 volt). 1 side 12volt constant and other side ground. it should lock or unlock, then reverse the wires it should do the opposite. Make sure unplug the six pin harness.
