Default Good RSX replacement tire

Hey guys, It's about time that I replace all my tires... I want to get something that has a quiet and smooth ride but not some rediculous $200 tire.... I don't live up north nor do I track this or anything of that sort, just drive to work like a human..

Just curious what you guys have upgraded to as far as the 215/45r17's

Thanks,
steve

If that's all you do then it'd be pointless to get any other size.. just get what size came on them. I went with kumho ecsta asx from tire rack 205/55 r16 personally because i use my car for mainly going to work. Maybe an occasional track day or so but nothing i'd need to spend oodles of cash on.

Cool, yeah I was going to keep it the same size... I was looking at the ASX, are they quiet? Road noise is probably my biggest thing... I'm looking at the Falken Ze-912's right now, they dont' look too bad at under $70 a pop.

the quiestest tire ive ever owned were dunlop sp sport 9000's. awesome tire but the price, about $175 each, is going to probably kill that option for you. if you want quiet quality tires you're going to have fork out some pesos.

I went with Falken FK452s. They are only about $110 each and they outperform the Dunlop SP Sport Maxxs and the Khumo Ecstas. They have better treadwear than both as well.

I actually enjoy the asx's they are a lot quite then what other tires i had on there but then again they were almost gone. If you want a performance tire then i'd say yeah spend the money away but if you're getting a tire that you just want for regular driving then you don't need to pay an arm and a leg for super performance tires. I sat down, thought about what tire i wanted, looked up each one and came to a conclusion "I don't need a superior performance tire" so the ASX's actually fit what i needed. I also read good reviews of the tires plus they also went down in price from 86 to 73? 70? so i went ahead and bought them. I have no complaints and like them.

Yeah I don't need anything badass... I live in the south, I don't rice it up or street race... I just want something quiet so it drives like an acura and not a jacked up truck. If you say the ASX's are just as or more quiet than the stock michelins then i'll definitely go with them.

Judging from his sig he has an 06 type-s. The 05-06 stock rims come with a 215/45/17 tire.

I never said anything about exactly what size tires to go with i'm just implying to go with stock tires, no need to buy "super duper extravagant" tires. I just used my tires for example. I know what size comes on the 05-06.. what are you some correctional officer? Seriously stop trying to critique everyone. Did you forget this is a forum and opinions will be thrown a lot?

LMAO dude he asked what 215/45/17 tire to get and you said it was "pointless to get any other size..just get what size came on them" and then you mentioned the 02-04 size. I wasn't fvcking correcting you I was making sure he didnt go and order 205/55/16 instead of what he needed. I wasnt critiquing just helping wtf is wrong with that.

I'm just saying.. I wasn't implying to go out and buy exactly my size tires. Only thing i was suggesting was buy stock size tires that comes on the car and i just used mine as an example of buying the size i need for MY rim size. I'm pretty sure he's got a brain and can differentiate between the size i said and the size he has but that's only an assumption. I'm just saying to you is stop trying to think everyone is a dumbass and don't know their left from right is all. You critique to hard or think to hard into things.

I'm riding on Falken FK452's on my car right now, very good tire for the price. They are quiet, and good wet and dry grip.

i bought my car used. It had some worn down Falkens, i was doing 155mph on them one night, i went to Kuhmo, and now i loose grip around 120. Im not saying every one is as addicted to speed as I am, but any tire that will outperform that much at high speed will far more reliable on a daily drive

you missed my point. i for a fact do not go 120+ daily but, when i do feel like going fast period, i'd like to know i have the right items for doing it. Back to tires though, Falken is the way to go both for weather performance, and track performance.

I've honestly have had no problems with my kumho asx's as it has rained and snowed here. I'm just saying going 120+ is a stupid idea to base something on especially if all your doing is DDing.

Check out this site. I got my hankook k106 tires from here. I bought them bout 50 bucks a tire. It took about a week an half to get them. It cost me bout 115 bucks all together for 2 tires with shipping. I installed them at a auto shop on a military base. Thats where I saved also. You will have to go to a local shop unless your military to have them installed an that will run bout 30 to 40 bucks a tire. I searched your size an they are a little more. Good Luck

Yeah I'm prior military so I can go on to the hobby shop and do it, I've probably changed 4000 tires in my life from 2 years of working at a Goodyear when I was a teen, so that part helps.

I'm probably just going to go with the falken 912's, I'm not really concerned with going 155mph on my way to work.
