Default 93' b18c1 ?

i have bought a gsr motor recently, its stamped B18C1, the head is stamped P72, the oil pan is P72. the person i bought it from said its a 95' gsr, but i looked at the year of the head, and its a 93' head. i always thought b18c1 gsr's where 94-00' and the 93 gsr was stamped b17? is it possible that its been restamped? or the heads been switched? is there some info i did not hear about? whats goin on here?

if the head has a 9 with a slash in the middle then a 3 for example 9/3 that means its a '94

I have a 94 GSR but it's stamped with 93 dates.. because it was made in 93 but released as the new 94 model.

Maybe the same with the head?

whaa? why couldnt honda just put a 9/4? i would make it much easier. soo my motor is a 94 but stamped 93?

i learned to look for the date thanks to this link: http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/h...1.jpg

QUESTION. just for extra info, are the b17's stamped as P72's also?

Honda casted thousands of heads along with other parts in 93 to be used in 94 and up models. Its like right now, it only 2008 but pretty soon 2009 model cars will be up for sale.

The date is the casting date, not the model year.
