Default Broken stud

Is there any way I can get my wheel off w/out ruining it? I don't care if the rim gets a little damaged as long as I can still drive on it. They're 17x7 ADR Visions

i'm not quite sure what you mean.. how is the broken stud preventing you from removing the wheel? Do you mean you stripped the lugnut?

Yea. The lugnut keeps spinning in one spot and doesn't come off.

aaaahh... gotcha.. so the lug is frozen to the stud, and the stud is spinning in the hub.. ouch.... air hammer/chisel?

Wow that sucks

Maybe you could weld something to the top of the lug so you can apply outward force to make it grab to the threads on the stud better.

I still don't know if the lug is spinning or the whole stud is. How would I get to the back of the hub?

I had this problem on my DD Civic. I just took a chisel and a hammer and kept hitting it til I was through the lug all the way. I did this on steelies though so I really wasn't worried. I've heard the weld something on the end of the lug trick works pretty good sometimes I would try that.

Well I have thin wall lug's so it's even harder to chisel it. How much damage will the air chisel do?

Call a tire shop and ask them. It happens.

waht i've done in the past is, remove all the other lug nuts, then kind of pry up the wheel a little, which applies outwards pressure on the stud, then hit it with the airgun.

it might help keep the stud still while spinning the nut off.

Maybe it's just me but I don't like banging on expensive wheel bearings with hammers and chisels. I like Eddie's suggestion.
