Help! timing belt crisis on 92 accord
So I just brought my 92 accord (171k miles on it) in to get a new timing belt because it was due and a couple of weeks later i start my car up and hear this terrible snapping/flapping noise, bring it back in only to hear that the brand new belt is broken...they swear no damage was done, but i don't trust them and don't know what to do... here's what's been going on:
after i got the belts replaced and my car "fixed" i immediately noticed that the car drove differently, there is currently no power, no pick up when i initially accelerate (it's an automatic) or have to accelerate after i'm already going about 35 mph, i will literally have the pedal to the floor and then all of a sudden it screams between 4-5 rpms and then shifts...i'm afraid the belt will break again, and i'm not convinced that the timing is adjusted right and i would rather not go to another shop and start over- i want these guys to fix it correctly, but i feel like they might need some advice...
thanks

Well.... how about you ask them if they've checked for damage to the valves or pistons?!
You may have a compression problem, which is causing the loss of power.
Have them check their work, they need to figure this out, even if they end up doing more work than initially planned, the customer should always be satisfied at the end right?!

Let me tell you that I know nearly nothing about cars, and don't take my advice too seriously.
But, After I got my timing belt replaced on my 4th Gen Accord, a week later the TCU went out, and it was stuck in 3rd gear. You had to be pedal to the floor, until 35 miles an hour, at which point it drove like normal. So, watch your RPM's closely, and see if your "sport mode" still turns on or off. This is assuming it's automatic BTW.
