Default boosted h22 issue

I have a 92 Accord and in the summer on really hot days the engine overheats. I have a Yonaka half rad, and I have checked everything else that could cause the overheating and I believe that the Yonaka rad isen't very good. So a question to those who have a boosted h22, what rad do you have? And do you have any advice? Thanks

I think he installed a yonaka half radiator to make room for the turbo??? Perhaps this doesn't provide enough cooling/airflow for cooling for your boosted engine? Sure your radiator fan works, and its not a crappy strap on radiator is it? How many rows does the rad have?

Yes the Yonaka was to make room for the turbo. I don't think it's a shitty rad I just don't think it's big enough, and I have one pull fan on it. Yes I believe the Accord has a much bigger OEM rad than the Civic, I guess I'm wondering what my options are as far as good radiaotors are, that would fit. I'm not exactle sure how much clearance I have maybe another 3 inches

Im sure with the H22 its tight. (depending on the turbo/mani you have). With my F its tight enough. I run the Godspeed rad with dual slim fans.

Its HOT as hell in FL so cooling was my concern. Id give it on the cooling on the fitment. it was a pain in the *** to get this thing to fit !
i think the fans are what makes it kickass, its like an instant storm in the engine bay when they turn on !

Koyo and Fluidyne radiators are very both good. Get a good set of high speed slim fan and you should be good.

yeah I doubt the rad in the pic shown would fit, there is not a lot of room. Right now I have one pull fan that does work, its a Four Season fan (good qualiy, but not sure how much cfm it pulls. I was thinking of getting a quality rad like Koyo or Fuidyne, and adding another fan, I just dont want to spend all that money to find out that it still isent good enough. Thanks for the replies though

then id start with just the fan if money is holding u back... id also dremel the front bumper if u havent already. to allow as much air flow as possible in there.

not sure abt the brand to be honest, but ea push 1250 cfms if my memory serves me right.

i bought them off of a b18turbo in the sponsor forum. they were only 35ea !everywhere else wanted at lease dble of that ! highly reccomended

if i could do it over though id ditch the oversized rad and get just the slim fans. but knowing my luck id have a post saying over "heating issues".

Put the fans on the other side of the radiator to make room? And get an OEM radiator. I would imagine that'd fit?

You ever thought about some ducting? If you have a hole and no path you have high pressure. Look at Nascar, F1, GT or any race vehicle and they ALL have a directed way in and directed way out for air. There is a reason for that. Just cause you have a 1000 cfm fan strapped to the radiator don't mean that it is alwayssucking air through it. If there were a shroud between the rad. and fan then the air would be coming through the rad. no matter what. Same goes for a pusher fan. All it is doing most of the time is recirculating air if you don't have some type of shroud. Especially sitting still. Might give it a shot before you plop cash for a bigger rad. Made a world of difference in my RX7..

yeah we did put a block of plate and there is a lot of air reaching the I/C, but it still wasn't good enough. I figure that the Yonaka rad just isent good enough, so I will probably end up getting a Koyo half rad and add an extra fan, maybe hook it up to a switch so I can control it.
