I got rear ended a few days back. Had the adjuster come out and look at the car. There are a few dents in the quarter panel, he said for this small of a dent (which is about the size of your outstreched hand, not too deep.) he wants to just fix it instead of replacing. Considering it is her insurance company doing the work, do i have the right to ask him to replace the panel? Seeing as a bondo job will not be restoring the car to its original form.

yes you do have the right to ask for a replacement body piece. i am assuming that the adjuster was from her insurance and not yours? call yours out there and see if they will give you a different figure.

 

I recommend telling your insurance company you would like to take it to your body shop.

Fix Auto does good work and they usually do a large number of insurance claims. They will give you an estimate to fix the damage.

 

bro hold up.... i've gotton into 2 accidents with 2 dif cars in past 3months both not my fault -- Yes you let there adjustor come he gives u a write up. Take it to a body shop of YOUR choice and get a estimate. Send that estimate in and they will end up meeting you somewhere in between or at your estimate... ITS YOU CAR... ITS THERE FAULT... say im not having your people touch my ****, my guy is doing it and your paying for it. Enough said, u will get ur money

 

I would call my insurance company, however i <U></U>do not<U></U> want to have my premiums go up for this. I asked their adjuster to figure in the cost of replacing the panel, he told me that he has to abide by state farms regulations and wasnt sure whether he would be able to replace it or not. I will wait to hear back from him until i make any decisions. Thanks for the advice. I really dont want bondo on my car!

man i was rearended xmas eve and it was a nightmare. dont let it drag on. call them everyday until u get ur check. bother the **** out of them, and let them know that ur not sittin on it, u want ur $$ and car fixxed. it wasent ur fault so u shouldnt suffer esp with bondo. Tell them u want the panel replaced and not a junkyard panel!!!! u want a OEM panel from ACURA. best would be take it to a shop u know and have them fight it for u. a shop can also reccomend what they wanna use. if its easier for the shop to get a panel then do body work they will recommend it for u. dont let them cut any corners.

when my car was wrecked i was speaking to the owner/ friend and he told me somethin he said "if a body shop can save .10 cents on ur car they will. they cut every corner possible. if they save ten cents on ur car. think about how many cars they do a day...they save thousands a year by saving ten cents on ur car."

Black ace get an ESTIMATE from a bodyshop in town.... not jus the adjustors bro, its common sense -- ADJUSTOR = LOWBALL ESTIMATE. THis means you need to go to a bodyshop in your town and get an estimate also, dont just settle for w/e they think should be fixxed with "there" guy giving u estimate. Get your real estimate and go say look heres the price i got and argue wit them.
