1.3 bar radiator cap
The stock radiator cap on a s2k is 1.1 bar. Most "racing" caps are 1.3 bar (Mugen, Spoon, etc....). A higher pressure cap will cool better but what are the drawbacks? Are your hoses more likely to fail or is it something else?

The drawbacks are:
1.) It's highly unnecessasry for any driving you will ever do
2.) it costs like $30
plus, it's not like they are running stock radiators either man...

Have u read what Spoon did?!?!? the Electric supercharger coupled with the turbonator causes so much turbulance it can blow your intake off! u need arp bolts to hold it on and a good gasket

I haven't really researched it, but I have heard good things about it. My gf's brother gave me a 1.3bar one from some JDM company called Power or something. Apparently it was like $60 or so.
More power, eh? Interesting.

da0n, no one took physics in college?
you raise the boiling point of the liquid(coolant in this case) by introducing pressure to a sealed system. that is why coolant burst and boil when you open the cap at while the thing is pressurized and hot, you open the cap and lost all the pressure=all the juice inside boils and rush to the "hole"
it's a cool little mod but i ran my car in SOW for the whole 20 minute section without even seeing one raised bar(my car is stock) which render it pretty much useless on the street i think.
dont try to put a high pressure cap on a older car, the added pressure will spring a leak or two.

So your opinion is, it will blow the hoses or rupture the seals on the radiator if everything is not in top shape? I have a Mugen cap on the car ,just because I like it, but I didn't want to risk damaging the head or the waterpump if the pressure went over the oem standard of 1.1 bar and the cap didn't puke until it reached 1.3 bar.

My gf's brother gave me some JDM branded 1.3 bar cap. I put it on my new 07 with no problems. I might have said this already since this thread is so old, but I don't remember and I'm too lazy to look.

are you retarded?
go type search on google
what does a coolant cap have anything to do with fuel system?

the spring constant decrease as it's age, your 1.1bar cap will not be 1.1bar after couple years of service. The rubber hose also age and get harden as time goes by, i blew a hose(heater core to be exact) in my old **** acura when i replaced it's old **** oem cap with a new oem cap.
run a pressure test to see if the cap holds, and then run an adopter on the radiator top for pressure check.
