whats better, mechanical or electronic boost gauge?
also, can i use electronic boost gauges no matter what type of setup i'm using? i'm asking this because, won't hondata, aem ems, vafc hack, and other management systems fool the ecu from reading boost therefore fooling the gauge too? thanx
Correct me if I am wrong, but don't all, if not most boost gauges hook directly into a vaccuum source. If so, I think that makes them mechanical. I am not a gauge guru or anything though.
electronic is good if you want route the gauge in odd spot (glove box....etc) so that it doesn't create in crimps and give inaccurate readings...otherwise if you know that you can get the vcuum lines to your gauge without causing crimps...mechanical is better...looks cooler!

its a matter of taste too...I personally like the look of a mechanical (the way it jumps and jiggles with the engine air flow)...some like like the "never lie" accuracy and smoother flow of the electornic one...but they both do the job...if you are on a budget...getting a mech. one is a good place to save $50~$100
