I tried searching, I tried the FAQ, I even tried asking over PM (some people must just like to waste forum space) and had no luck.
Is the only half shaft that will work in a ZC trans a ZC half shaft or is there an alternative? Thanks to the helpers.

im pretty sure that i read that the half-shaft from the 4wd civic wagon will work and is in fact the same half-shaft
Maybe somebody can back me up on this statement.

Try the one from an 86-89 integra seeing as they are almost the same tranny.

I had the opportunity to compare a 4wd wagon and zc intermediate shaft a few years ago...they are not identical, but pretty close. IIRC the collar on the transmission side was about 1/2" different. Would that prevent it from working? I don't know.
Someone of the ZC Resource found a way to make a perfect fit by mixing parts from the D16a1 and the wagon shafts.

Nope. See thread below.
Here's a thread on the wagon shaft: http://www.thezcr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9539
And looks like davens is right, they're identical parts but the wagon shaft is a little shorter than the ZC one.

I believe I have an actual ZC halfshaft/intermediate shaft at my house.
I bought a ZC tranny that came off of a DOHC ZC black top engine, and I took the 1-4 gears from that ZC tranny and swapped them into an Si case with the Si FD and all. I was left with a ZC case, Si 1-4 gears, and the ZC half shaft.
If I were to bring the shaft from my home into my shop and post pics would any of you be able to identify it?
I'd be happy to sell it to someone who needs it, but I certainly don't want to package and ship the wrong shaft to someone.

Sure.
My dumb *** completely forgot to take it here to work with me, but I suppose I can just take my diggy camera home (I for some reason have it at work more) and snap some pics of it, and even measure it from end to end.
I've had this shaft for like 5 years with literally zero possibility of ever needing it.
PM me where you're from, etc. as I have never even sold a part to someone and had to ship it. I've never been the parts selling guy, but IMO this is more like helping out a member of the community.

I got the half shaft down from my attic, and it seems to measure almost exactly 14.5'' from end to end.
Has a male end that sticks into the tranny, and the inner joint from the driver side CV axle is still on the non-tranny side of the shaft still. Looks like the axle side of the half shaft is also male, with a female inner joint on the driver side CV axle.
By this description can anyone confirm/deny that it's a true DOHC ZC half shaft?

Okay I was mistaken about the male/female ends thing.
The midshaft/intermediate/half shaft is 14.5;; long and has a male end that goes into the tranny, and a female end for the driver side CV axle to click into.
I will take/post pics as soon as I get back from lunch.

I have the 0bd0 half shaft looks the same as in pic also the ZC diff is bigger then the US si L3 diff ...
Also the US d16A6 block has the holes for the half shaft D15B's don't...

Here's the pics I snapped:

Transmission side:

Axle side:

"M/T" - I can only assume that means manual tranny

Bolt pattern where it bolts to the block:

...and true to form JDM style torch-cut axle shaft with inner joint that was still stuck in the midshaft:

So if anyone can help identify this intermediate/mid/half shaft that'd be great. attention ***** needs one, but I don't want to waste either his nor my time/effort on shipping him the wrong one.
Thanks for any help!!!

i just read on another forum that some guy took the 86-89 teg int. shaft and then used a carrier bearing/bracket from a 4wd wagon and he claims it worked flawlessly. Any info on this setup?
