cost 2 grand above msrp????????
Is it like this anywhere else? Im trying to get a black SI coupe with no navi. First of all, there is a 4 month waiting period for one without navi unless they find one before then. Secondly, they already broke the numbers down with me and said they will not sell any "SI coupe" at msrp because there are people that are more than willing to pay above msrp. I actually got the feeling that they were telling the truth about the other people paying above msrp. Also they knew i was very serious about buying one and it did not seem like they cared that much whether i purchased from them or not(except for the salesman). Ive been looking at the thread about how much everyone paid for there 06+ and im sadened that im not seeing anything close to the prices that others have purchased theres for. Is this how it is everywhere in cali? Im really thinking about driving out of sd to see if i can get better deal than this.

Hahaha
Hahaha
I just bought a 2008 Si in Fiji Blue...I payed exactly MSRP as stated on Honda's website. Dealers can certainly mark it up, but you can talk them back down to MSRP. If they want the sale, they will work with you, trust me. No dealership is going to watch 20 grand walk out the door over a piddly 2 grand markup.
I wouldn't ever pay MSRP for a Honda. Never have, never will...
Your best bet is to shop out around. Its worth driving an hour or two to save a few hundred or more.

Dont let them give you that crap about "THIS CAR IS BETTER THEREFORE YOU MUST PAY MORE", They gave me that and I got up and left, then took about a week but I finally found the color I wanted and paid below MSRP. Just chill, in time you will find a better deal or more close to what your looking for.

Do an online quote from edmunds.com or such for a 100-200 mile radius. They know they're competing, so they'll give you the best price they can. Plus you have leverage in negotiations based on what the otehres are paying and the invoice price the dealer pays stated on edmunds.
THey're yanking you around. Don't be afraid to drive a little bit to save a few grand- it's much more economical to save on the car than to stay with a local dealer.

well u see.. i live in the a.v, which is about 2 hours and 46 minutes north of the charger stadium. and i paid 20k out the door for my 2008 fbp fg2. and i only waited 4 days for the car to come from michigan. and we all know that the fbp is a hot color and is hard to get. well for dealerships at least. i suggest u get out of sd. sd is a rich ppl place. u should try gardena honda. they were gonna offer me 19k out the door for an 07 si 4dr in fbp last august. but i heard about the trannys so i waited till the 08 came out. if not gardena honda, try cerritos auto square in l.a. the competition is outrageous out there. they'll go under msrp for sure dude.

Do what I did - work out a price with the dealership. Eventually they'll stop working with you. From that point, you go and get some 'other quotes' (I made up a fake one) and told them if they didn't match it, I'd go to them. Needless to say, they dropped $1200 off their final price when I said I'd walk if they didn't match my fake quote.
