I just picked up a light from the junk yard since i dident have one. This is the one in the middle of the headliner that shines down in the middle of the car.
Well it has 3 positions.
on
Middle
off.
Well the off works.
Also the middle works, Thats if you want it to come on when the doors open, and turn off when doors are closed.
But the on does not work.
Like when im in the car if im trying to see somthing and i flip the switch to on it wont turn on. The only way it will work is in the middle position with the door open.
There are two wires going to it, i assume ones power and ones ground.
This is a 91 civic si.
Input would be great.
The fuse it good and all.......
Any ideas why it does not work if i switch it to on.
Also i dont have the light fixture with the signs on it that right next to your rear view mirrow. Will that affect the light?

no, actually one wire is the door ground, the other is constant 12V power. the switch grounds itself to the chassis through the mounting screw. looking at the wiring diagram, since the door light works which means you have it wired properly and receiving 12V power, im guessing you dont have a good connection thru that mounting screw so that it grounds itself properly. make sure its screwed down properly to the roof.
