Default No SOL go to waste.

Just wanted to share what i've been working on my newly aquired 95 Del Sol Si. i got the car with a blown up motor, melted #1 piston, and a mess of parts. I traded my 91 EF sedan for the sol. The car used to have a rigged up turbo kit, and didn't last long. So i'm starting fresh.

D16z6
Vitara YCP piston 75.5mm
NPR Rings
ACL Race Serie bearings
Tuner toys rods
ARP rods bolt
ARP head studs
Golden Eagle block guard
TT 550cc injectors
Bored and knotched z6 block
Stock z6 head for now
Undecided on turbo kit (any suggestions?)

I will update with futher mods, Right now it's N/A for the break in period...yay
Here's some pics, comments welcome.

Melted piston

Scored up wall

Stocking up on z6, never know when you might need one..lol

Car when i got it

Fresh block back from machine shop, bored and knotch

ARP, GE, Vitara, TT

Co-worker showing some love on my build (Hyundai hubcap, I'm a Mazda/Hyundai tech)

MORE PICS AND PROGRESS TO COME....

Found some more pics of the build.
Z6 assembled(waiting on oil pump from honda)

Engine is in, and running (so quiet, I was worried about the typical vitara noise)

She needed a good clean

As of right now i'm running it N/A to break it in. I gotta wait for some additional parts (Turbo kit, ectune boost controller, Innovative wideband, turbo timer, ect)
I'll keep updating on my progress...

just out of curiosity what did u time it at since the vitaras give it low compression do you have to advance the timing ? or do you still put evrything at tdc?

the vitaras run a little loose on a stock bore d series. but im assuming being as it was bored that its using over sized vitaras and your machinist is top notch and squeezed em in good . and he should run the same timing with lowered compression.

that thing is tight. very clean sol. i live up in the MN arctic so i dont get to see hondas without rust. whats the plan with the turbo setup? how much power you gonna try and make? good work and keep up the single cammin slammin!

Got bored so I started some body work. I'll be picking up a spoolin manifold and 3" downpipe, so the turbo will be in soon. Here's some pix:

Ok, this weekend I fab up all the intercooler, welded up all the piping and the oil pan. All the AN fitting was a bitch :x , but all in all it was a good day. This week i'll be installing the ectune electronic boost solenoid, innovative wideband w/display..I'll keep updating as i go. Here's the current pics...enjoy

That looks so beautiful, when I get a car I was thinking about a Sol or an EG Hatch, but have to say that your Sol looks like it would be amazing and of course be pretty quick too. My first post here btw!
