Default zc distributor wiring depinning

I have a dohc zc distributor that i am replacing with an 89 integra distributor. Obviously the wiring is different i need to know how to depin the wires out of the two different connectors. I already tried paper clips, safety pins... Just wondering if there is anthing else i can try tonight to get the wires out or do i have to break the plastic tabs out of the integra wiring side of the new dizzy to get the pins out. Thank you and i already searched this but nothing came up for distributors specifically

well...... what i remember doing on all my plugs is going from the opposite side that the wires are going in and then putting a jewelers screwdriver in there and the wires just pulled out..i dont know, if you play around with it enough it will come out then you will get it down. I can depin honda plugs in a snap now

A picture of the connector would be helpful, many types of connectors in the car, and some have protectors that lock in the pins with more than two types of locks.

i just use a safety pin.
if u look into the plug from the front, u will see the little clip holding the pin in...
just use a safety pin to push the little clip up off the pin, while pulling the wire from the backside.
its very simple
then match up the colors of the wires.
there are 2 white wires, so u may have to switch them if it duznt start right up.

but if u r switching to an 89 integra, u shouldnt have to do any repinning
unless u used your original "round" style plug instead of the square one.
