Default Remove front bumper for CAI install?

To those I've asked before about this topic, YES I'm still indecisive about a damn intake! I've recently learned that the "correct" way to install a CAI is to remove the front bumper. I know I've seen a DIY on the proper removal and re-installation of the front bumper but I can't seem to find it. Is it TOTALLY neccassary to remove it? Are the gains of a CAI worth the hassel (bumper, removing of stock intake tubing and parts and other misc. stuff) over an SRI? I'm sorry if I'm beating a dead horse and askin you guys the same crap over and over, I just don't wanna be sorry that I made the decision I did when it's all said and done. RICO_ (I kno you're gonna read this haha) You had mention that the SRI gains are very comprable to that of a CAI. Anybody else want to comment on that? Thanks all!

Removing the bumper actually isnt too bad... theres the clips (4 i think) on the cover in the front. There is the 2 screws on the corners in each wheel well, the 2 hex bolts behind the cover you take off up front, and several clips underneath...takes like 2 minutes to do. I did my intake in a couple of hours in my garage. Make sure you have some in the fridge

Thanks for the reply, and for the information I'm assuming putting the bumper back on is almost as easy as taking it off? Hopefully? and no worries...ALWAYS plenty of 's in the fridige

Just a bit of advice...

It is easy to take off the bumper, but don't rush it. It might be good to have a buddy help you so your not warping the bumper while trying to take it off. I had help with it just last week cleaning my filter..makes life alot easier.

As much as I bitch about taking that thing off every 15k to change the filter....the sound is super worth it. The gain prob aren't much different than an sri though

Cool thanks, there's actually a guy on here that said he would help me. Hopefully it won't be a big deal, thanks! Do you know if the intakes made by injen for the 06+ models, fit both the sedan and coupe? Or are there two different models?

look put the car on a jack lift it to about where your head straight will fit in,once you done that take the front right wheel off, then there are going to be 2 clips in the wheel whel ,then take the 2 screws that hold the whole splash gard under the car from each side and offcours remove all the clips under the front bumper then take the bumber off and trust me once your going to take all of this off your going to be super comfortable workin on your car to install the CAI..with no prob..!

You might wanna invest in a clip remover 2 if your gonna get a CAI. It makes it alot easier and saves you from breaking some.

The screw driver handle with the cro-bar end
