Well I currently drive a 98 EJ8 with about 146,000 miles. Recently honda did a tune up with wires rotor etc. So that's all covered. Recently im getting 20mpg. I mean wtf? Is that normal? What else can I check for. And that's my best mileage driving like a granny. I really need some help guys, please help out. I already tried injectpr cleaner but didn't work. Also I just recently did SMOG on it and I had high HC if that helps.

 

dam, for sohc that is bad. you should at least be getting 25 mpg or more. is it all stock ?

 

Well that's what I tought. And yes car is stock except for a intake I just put on. But even before I installed the intake it was the same. Seems like I need help bad then...huh.

 

have you had the injectors clean ? how long ago did they do the tune up ? check your tire presure too

 

Well the tune up was done about 1,000 miles ago along with the oil change they also did. As for fuel injectors being cleaned well I didn't know that was possible. What does a bad PCV valve affect? Im just throwing out ideas. Tire pressure is good. Believe me I have tought of the little things already. I don't want to start dumping money all crazy and **** that's why im asking what can be wrong. I mean like I mentioned I had high HC in my recent smog check. I mean I passed at max. Meaning 1 more digit and would've failed the test. Any other ideas?

 

ok, idea's. have you done a compression test on the motor ?
