Default 22X8X13 slick, is 4500 rpm too low to launch? about 300 hp

car is extremely light crx, sohc turbo.. about 300 hp , stock axles. i never ran with these slick before.. Mand H 22 8 13 on very light wheels... they are about 9" wide on the rims.. air press about 10 psi.. is 4500 rpm too low to launch ? will it bog? i shift a 7000 so i can go up but i dont wanna just end up spinning them so i dunno if i should start at 4500 or higher with the clutch cut? ?

from reading im getting the idea its too low? how about launching at 6000 ? im basically gonna have to drop the e brake and bang into 2nd gear as soon as i launch. does that sound about right ?

No, if it spins you want to bang the limiter in first a little bit so that it doesn't bog going into second. Start with your two step at 5500 and work up from there, its just too hard for someone to tell you how to launch on the internet. Its just a feel thing and everyone does it different.

i have a b-series turbo...
just my opinion from this last weekend...
i was @ 10 psi launching @ 6800, felt real good..(stock axles)
tried lower and did not like it. tried 12 psi and i like that.
so i went to the happy medium @ 11 psi and i will be there from now on..
ohh by the way these were 22x8x13 M&H's.. 300 hp also.
i posted my 60 fts and track times up to see in this section.. check em out.
good luck to you with your slicks

did u have to let it hit rev limit then stay in 1st for a while or did u shift to 2nd soom as u hit rev limit? i have a feeling if i launch at 5500-6000 soon as i hit rev of 7000 ill shift . if i stay in 1st and wait ill prob be stuck to the rev limit and waste more valuable time than if i shifted to 2nd.. im still debating on 5500 or 6000 clutch cut.. its not gonna be adjustable once i get to track so i gotta set it before.. and did u preload or just bang it off the line? i wanna preload but i get nervous ill pull my self past the line before green.. my ebrake aint all that great , even after cleaning and adjusting it

you're just going to have to try it man... no one can tell you how to best launch your car. why isnt it adjustable at the track?

most tuning software doesnt require a top-of-the-line computer to run... i picked up my tuning laptop for $20 from a friend. hop on ebay and grab something cheap/old

launch at least above 6000rpm. try 6500-7000. if you launch too low, the car will fall on its face, drop rpm and it'll be harder to pick up momentum.

my shift point is 7000 if i launch there ill really be screwed.. highest i think i can go is 6k launch, im about to just run my 14x20x8's instead of the 22's i might get wheel spin but they should hook in 2nd ... i dunno.. the 22 might make me worse off since im not used to drivin with slicks and i have to put down a good number..
