I think my timing is off.
OK can any one tell me were my timing marks are suppose to be? 89 civic dx d15b2 w/5 speed tranny. Every time I excellerate onto an on ramp it clatters like crazy. Like I am running super low octane fuel. It pings something fierce! Its very anoying and I have tried to readjust the the timming but it still does it no matter were I set it.
Thanks for all your help in Advance....

The single mark by itself is TDC. I lined that up with my cam at TDC and intalled the timing belt. i'm not sure if this is correct bu my car has been running well like this for a while.
you should have 4 lines, 3 in a group for ignition timing and 1 alone for top dead center. On your timing cover there is a line that you line up with the single line on the pulley, thats top dead center.... after that you line up your cam lines so that it runs even with where the valve cover meets the cylinder head (where the gasket sits)
ok upon further inspection I realized that I have 3 lines then a space with 2 more lines on it. I have it set at the second line of the first three lines. Is that correct? Any help?
