Default B16a vtec engaging at 7k

Need some help here, basically over the last month or so vtec has been kicking in between 6800-7000rpm. Don't know what happened everything was perfectly fine then one day I noticed it kicked it at 6000rpm. Slowly it would change to 6500 then 6800 now it's at 7000.

I took off the solenoid and checked the screen for dirt none found, I don't know what to check next. I did notice that before I took off the solenoid that it looked like it was leaking some oil so I'm assuming the gasket needs replaced. Would that cause this issue?

Thanks

Denny

I've heard something about the spring that causes it to pop out of Vtec on deceleration being sticky or over-active. Just a thought.

Your piston return springs are out of VTEC fluid.

Could this have anything to do with a vtec pressure switch or no?
