Default L.S.D

From what I've read, The OBX L.S.D senses when the primary drive side looses traction and alternates the side that the power is given to. I thought it just locked both tires, no? I thought I read that it does lock BOTH tires in a couple threads... but maybe im wrong. Can someone cleat this up for me?

if it locked both tires the car would be a handful to drive. when you turn both wheels would rotate at the same speed, but one would have more distance to travel then the other so one of the wheels would drag the other along.

The LSD is a helical-type torque sensitive differential. It biases power to the wheel that has more grip.

And I would tell you what tranny i have, but i dont know due to and engine swap by a previous owner. I do know that both tires will lock up tho... Just seems like not all the time.... Im gonna start paying more attention when i get home... which will b thursday, so ill be back on prob friday as ill be getting back late. Thanks for your info!
