I have PCT : 98+ JDM ITR / CTR ecu with a b16 and it won't hit vtec. Were can I take it to be look at??

You have a JDM type R ecu and it wont Hit v-tec? so i guess you have a type R motor to? anyway check you oil is the first thing you should do because V-tec wont hit if you are low on oil. Second i would take it to honda to get it checked out.

 

What kind of motor is it?

 

yea definately check the oil first off. if you are more then a quart low vtec wont engage. Also what is the code is on the ecu? its possible you could have gotten sold a "jdm ITR ecu" and its not. and to tune the ecu you need to chip it and hook it up to a program on a computer like crome and go through all the diagnostics.

check to make sure the coolant temp sensor is good, i had this problem with a jdm itr engine from hmotors with a p73 ecu, had no vtec, found out much later that the coolant temp sensor (not the one wire for the gauge, but the 2 wire near the vtec solenoid) was no good, the ecu thought the car was never warmed up and would not engage vtec. turned out to be an easy fix. start simple, try an ecu that definitely engages vtec (if you can find one) if that doesnt work, go through the diagnostics, theres a whole section in the helms manual on vtec system diagnostics

is it a b16a or b16b engine u have ?
PCT is a very rare EK9 CTR ecu not ITR and it should be obd2B ecu
jdm ecu sometimes makes usdm car run rough and throwing some unusual CEL. can u borrow a chipped p28 ecu from your friends by any chance? if it still not running right. then u need to check all the wiring and how did u do the harness wiring while u did the swap?
