Default Good trade or a bad one??

I have a "friend" of mine that Drives and Integra Type R but wants to boost it. Everybody knows if you boost a Type R without spending **** loads of money to build it up, your going to blow it up. So my friend approached me with an offer of a trade for my head (I drive an Integra Gs-R) and the brand new Skunk2 Intake Manifold. Good trade or bad one that will screw me in the end??

His head is better then yours, but I think if you put a itr head on your gsr, you will lose some compression, and you will also have to get the car tuned.

I'm not sure how hardcore you are about building your engine, if your planning on changing your pistons for itr pistons then it will be worth it, but if your planning on keeping it stock with just I/h/e, just keep your head.

LOL, that's pretty stupid, trading heads isn't going to help his cause, at all...

I don't care if it helps him. I just wanted to know if it did any good for me...

i dont think its worth it your gonna have to get a new head gasket, head studs, anitfreeze lines, throttle cable and an ecu if you plan on revving as high as an itr. it not worth it for the minimal diff i would just put the money your going to spend into your gsr head.

he can boost fine on stock internals, the most important thing is his tune and of course the obvious would be how many psi's hes running in relations to his hp goal

As my car sits right now I have a full ITR exaust and a Magnaflow CAT. I have already gone out and bought a 70mm Skunk2 Throttle body and a Skunk2 Intake Manifold and my car already has a Type R Computer...

Also he told me he'd pay for the gasket and all that stuff and shave the ITR Head.

Wouldn't you call this research??? I was told you guys on here know what your talking about. If I wanted a smart *** answer I would have asked for that. I am not a experienced mechanic and i've only had my Integra for a year so I am learning. As for my "friend" that wants to trade up, what he knows is none of my business....as for the rest of you thanks so much for your input, I really appreciate it!

the only benefit your friend would see is your cams, itr's have too much duration or overlap so a tuner would need to dial this out with adjustable cam gears. GSR and b16 si cams are better for turbo applications. If i were in your situation just trade cams and the valve springs too if you want. Otherwise stated by other members its not really worth it.

There is also a search button in the top right corner of this screen with tons of archived information about anything you would like to know.
