Default valve job, a good one or not...

Just got a valve job done on my b18c1 head and notice when I was checking the exhaust valves from the back side (where the exhaust header goes) when putting a flash light to the cylinder side of the valve I could see slight light coming through around the valve. Now when I went to test by put gasoline on the back side I wasn't getting any drips but the gas was very slowly just kinda bleeding through. Is this normal for a new valve job, will this seal better as the engine runs a bit with the new valve jobs, is their normally a break in period with this? Anyone with experience with valve jobs your input would be appreciated.

is the valve springs/retainers in the head to put pressure on the valve and pull it up or are you just looking at the valve sittings in the valve guide with no upwards pressure on it?

valve springs are installed pulling the valve up.

No way should you be able to see light through the valve/seat.It's a concentricity problem (the seat is not on center with the valve guide hole). This is the cause of most broken (dropped) valves. The valve continually bends slightly to conform to the seat location. This eventually breaks the head of the valve off the stem. You need to get this redone.
