Default Dash

I looked around the forum, but couldnt really find anything on the subject.

Im planning on buying a Clock, and the coin pocket for my EG. I was wondering how hard it is to install the clock, and if there are any wirteups on the subject.

Also, for the coin pocket. I know it goes where the dimmer is, but is there any other "buttons" that go next to the dimmer switch? Also, when installing the coin pocket, what do you do with the dimmer switch? ANy links to write ups would be nice.

Thanks
Abius

clock's plug is already chilling behind the block off plate, just plug it in and mount it to the dash.

as for the coin pocket, i pushed the dimmer switch inside the dash and slid the coin pocket it in.

super easy stuff

Whatever you do, do not leave the dimmer switch unplugged otherwise your dash lights won't come on.

you have to actually take out the whole plastic trim piece to install your clock. 3 screws. Watch out not to break any clips when taking the plastic bezel out.

Alright, thanks for the info guys. But does anything other then the dimmer switch go there? Because I think on eBay when you order some fog lights it looks like its the 3 button thing that comes with it instead of the actual fog light button next to the defroster.

Like here :

http://cgi.ebay.ca/92-93-94-95...wItem

Scroll down and look at the picture right next to the relay, its a 3 button panel (what ever you want to call it)

But if I purchase the proper Fog Light switch from say jdmland.com, it would work just as good right?

Thanks
Abius

If you had an LX trim or higher, there would be a cruise control button. If you had an EX or Si, you would have both cruise control and a moonroof button. I put my OEM foglight switch next to my defroster.

Does using an OEM Fog Light button produce any problems if using an aftermarket fog light kit?

Thanks

Most of the time, the aftermarket kits come with the foglight button. Im not too sure about the compatability they have with oem foglight buttons.

The OEM and aftermarket switch harnesses are different, therefore, you would need the OEM pigtail if you plan to use the OEM switch.

Some rewiring, and the OEM switch will work on an aftermarket harness. The aftermarket "EG" switch however, resembles more the OEM switch than the "EK" switches to the OEM "EK" switch.

The ebay switch is garbage. And its black so it wont match any other buttons inside.

Get an OEM switch if you can.

All of the "EG" aftermarket switches look gray in the pictures to me.

The pictures are very deceiving.

Well most of the eBay switches I found to look black. But I picked up a OEM switch from jdmland.com. How hard would re wiring to the OEM switch be? And I picked up a coin pocket, so aftermarket switch is out.

Thanks

I know this is for a 99-00 Civic, but the wire colors should be the same.
