Default P28 HELP!!! Did I get screwed?!?

So i bought a P28 ECU from a user on here last week and recieved it in the mail today. As soon as i took it out i had intentions of checking it out but was shocked to see that the cover bolts were already loosened. Uopn opening it i immediately seen this...

It appears to be labeled Q31 were this is at but my main concern is what is this spot for? I called my tuner where i was going to take it to get socketed to be used on my H23 VTEC build but considering it is after 5 on a friday i doubt i will hear back from them tonight or before monday and and really just want to know how bad this is...

that may be fixable. trace the copper leads and see if there are anymore burns on the board.

I wont give the guys name til i hear back from him. Until I hear back from him i wont list his name but i want to give him a chance to explain and resolve the problem (aka. getting me my money back)

either way my main objective of this was to find out what it was that blew and to see if it is fixable within reason or even something that may not be needed for the H22. Obviously paying 100$ for the ECU then having to pay another 100+ to fix wouldnt be within reason but if all it needs is a resolder socket and my tuner can do that then i wont make a huge deal of it. i just want to try and get answers over the weekend to get this fixed/resolved...

well i talked to the guy who sold it to me and he says he was unaware of it and that it did work in his car before he sold it. He is willing to give a refund of the money when i ship it back so that kinda makes up for it i guess.

Also that link made me register to view the forum so waiting on my account to be activated so i can view it. If someone can help me out and knows what pinout that is though would be appreciated. Have to wait til monday to send this out so i guess migt as well figure out how bad this is before then...

q31 is related to teh o2 sensor circuit, not sure if its o2 sensor signal or if its the heater though.

No, it's actually the EVAP purge solenoid driver. This is what happens when the IAT and EVAP plugs get switched accidentally. It won't affect operation, it's just that your EVAP system won't get purged anymore (may not be a concern for you anyway).

Thanks for the help

Not trying to sound like a complete idiot and maybe my tuner could answer this come monday but what do you mean by the EVAP not getting purged? and what role does that play for the H series. One thing i lack in my honda knowledge is ECU's and electrical stuf, i can put an engine together but come tuning time i rather have someone thats knows their stuf do it, but stil like learning along the way...

EVAP is responsible for getting rid of fuel fumes coming from your gas tank. Upon some conditions it just opens the vacuum solenoid which allows to suck these fumes to the intake manifold and then burn them with a regular air/fuel mixture.
