Default Purchasing a new shooter.

First off I know theres a photography thread BUT it's rarely posted in. So I'll just add pics. These were the only ones I could find on my photobucket account...

I used to own a Rebel 300D.

I am looking to get a new shooter but this time am thinking about getting a Nikon since they seem to bring out more color. The only thing that worries me is the high pixelation during high ISO as well as lower sharpness compared to Canon. Those of course are opinions only from what I've read on dpreview.com. Most of which can be fixed by Photoshop I would think. Plus leaving the shutter open longer at a lower ISO setting.

I want to avoid an entry level SLR but for the price I am willing to spend sort of negates that.

Entry level choices: Nikon D60 or Canon XSI (450D)

Mid level choices: Nikon D200 or Canon 30D

Please help and I am sure this will help a lot of others out as well.
