recently i purchased an aem sri and apexi ws2 exhaust, both installed successfully with no problems, but I just wondering that if i should reset the ecu by unplug the negative wire from the battery for 5 mins? what is the difference if i reset and not reset? thank you.

ok thanks, but i heard that if i want the most gain from the intake and exhaust, ill have to reset the ECU? anyway, thanks

 

Your ECU has a learning curve from the driver's driving style, not the aftermarket modifications... as far as it's concerned, an aftermarket intake still has the same temperature sensor and the exhaust still has the same O2 sensor (if applicable) and you won't see any changes from the ECU.

If you're still unsure, what's the worst that can happen? Unplug your battery for 10 minutes... no big deal.

 

After the ECU is reset, is there a specific procedure for rebooting the ECU, or do you just let the car idle for a few minutes?
