^ Well I heard of some people on other forums who had built K motors or boost I believe which they can redline at 9k but the rev limiter stopped it at 7200 and no one has been able to figure it out. Why not swap in a Rsx Type-S cluster?

Well, he doesn't claim to have a K-series (built or otherwise). So, for the sake of this argument, that is irrelevant. Plus, changing the cluster will only change the visual aspect of your car's performance. It has nothing to do with the actual physical change. So, it won't raise/lower the rev-limiter in any way.

One that's better than just saying, "OMG! K!"?

It'd be less expensive to just take the engine out and sell it.

Well, getting stuck on some road just trying to blow up a motor that's quite bulletproof from the factory doesn't sound like fun at all.

I don't know, it's always smart to have a backup plan. Say the K blows up the first week you get it? You're screwed.

Ill tell you why you don't need to remove the governor on the stock motor. I have a DX/LX and by the time i reach my limiter...180km/h, the motor is aready at redline in 4th gear, and in 5th gear, its not too far from redline either so..it's not like ud be able to reach more then 190km/h before your engine blows.

well that'd be pretty hard to do without kpro.
since its extremely difficult to get rid of the rev limiter on a stock d17.

"ish" being the operative word. Speedo's get quite vague once you're right up there, if you were to check your speed on a GPS it would be rather lower.

That because most GPS are using average speed. There only taking an estimated top speed based on the expected area covered.
Unlike an actual speed sensor that is reading your wheel. I have been in many races with cars at those speeds and i know that it was well past 120. I dont belive that close to 5 cars are gonna be wrong at one time. But who knows. Could be different.
