K20 into EG Swap Issues
Im in the middle of doing a K20a2 swap into an EG Civic Coupe. The car was originally an EX so it HAD power steering.
The car is using a Hybrid Racing Mount kit.
We test fitted the engine in the engine bay yesterday and it seems we are having problems with the K20 hitting the PS Rack. More specifically, the K20A2 transmission will not rotate past the PS rack so we can put the rear mount bolt in.
PICS:

Hybrid has been really helpfull, but its hard to convey the problem over the phone. As you can see the Trans is hitting the PS Gear on the rack itself. I was told to "notch" or "shave" the trans AND RACK and i just dont see where i can do that without damaging something.
Notice on the first pic how far i have to go to get the rear mount to line up.
Has ANYONE with an EG done a K swap with a POWER STEERING RACK? What about DC2 owners? Anyone had a similar problem? Should i put a manual rack in the car?
Thanks

Never seen that before. You should talk to them about getting another kit. Hey, I need a swap harness for a K20 into a DC2 for my buddy. You know where we can get one cheap?
i just recently dropped in a k24 with 6 spd into a 93 civic ex and had the smae issue, we managed to wiggle and rotate it enough to install the engine and there is about 1/4 inch clearance.
We are expecting to have to swap in a manual rack because I do not think the hasport mounts will be stuff enough to stop the engine from moving that much.

I'm having the same problem on my k20a swap in my delsol. Mines isn't quite as bad as yours looks but it still hits . After a full day of fighting a stubborn k I finley got it so there's a small gap. I also did grind some of the rack off just manly the top bolt where it was hitting so I'm hoping when I get it going it won't hit to bad if it dose I'm gonna probably get a manual rack. I wouldn't grind the tranni tho better to mess the rack up then your trannie I hope you can get it fixed

Do not shave/notch the transmission or the rack. I'm surprised to hear that as a recommendation from Hybrid.
Convert to a manual rack. It may cost you in time, but it will definitely keep it clean. Plus you will retain your resale value on a mint K20 trans.
