Default Steering wheel vibration around 50-55 mph?

Just wondering, If I only get a vibration around 50-55 mph and had the wheels and tires rebalanced again is it possible I just have a bad axle. I did replace it a year ago and cant remember having the problem before that. Thanks for the feedback. Also any suggestion on axles?

I know that you said you had the tires balanced. But you either have a bent rim or they are not balanced. A tire shop that has a "High speed" balancer can detect a bent rim.

Iwas going to say an out-of-balance tire, but it could be a bad axle. Do they click when you're turning? Have you checked your other front end parts like tie rods and your upper control arms?

I use nothing but OEM Honda parts.

Well I swapped back to front this year and still shakes, No clicking on the turning, and I also replaced both tie rods last year and ball joint boots.

One thing I did notice the new axle didnt have the rubber ring around it like th eother side, I am thinking maybe that rubber ring is supposed to prevent vibrations?

This type of problem is generally caused by an unbalanced wheel(s), so first focus on this possibility. If later ruled out, you might also have a loose motor mount given that the shaking occurs while accelerating.

if you already balanced your tires, and everything else in tight and in good shape, I'm almost sure its one of your INNER cv joints.

I had the same problem a year ago. Just remember to get new OEM axles or have your OEM axles rebuilt. Aftermarket/ebay axles will break before you finish installing them, they are ****.

Back to this topic. I swapped my 2000 Civic wheels with my wheels and I get no vibration with my wheels on the 2000 civic but then I also get no vibration with the 2000 Civic wheels on my EF! ARRH this is annoying. I swapped out the axel again no difference. Tightened everything again. I did change the tie rods not long ago, could tie rods cause this?

Have you ever hit a curb? Could be a bent front hub, causing the wheel to have side to side run out just as if the wheel was bent, even if it is strait. Or possibly a tire run out problem from damages tire belts. The number 1 causes are definately out of ballance tires, and bent wheels, but I have seen similar issues due to my other suggestions. You may want to put the car on jack stands, put it in gear while running, and see if there is any run out of the wheel/tire/hub. You will be able to see a problem with any of the 3 while doing this. Good luck!
