Door and Heater problem...
i got a 99 Civic Hatch. my passenger door can be only open from the inside but not the outside? any ideas? my heater isnt working even though it just blows air. my friend says it may be the thermastat? where is it? i have a 99 body and a B18 motor. wondering do i buy it for the civic or the B18? thanks
Ur problem could be that ur heater core is blocked and the coolant is not getting to it to blow hot air. As for the dorr. try taking off ur door panel and see if there is something wrong with ur link cable to the handel outside.
Yea its possible the linkage came disconnected from the outside handle.
Check the Thermostat, let the car cool down compeltley, start up the car, let it run, once u feel the upper radiator hose get hot, youll know if its working

koo koo. i fixed the door now. thanx i went to autozone earlier and they said i might be low on anti freeeze so i was like okay. threw it in...pfft wasted 15 bucks. if the heater core is blocked how do i un clog it? if it is a thermastat where is it located at?
If the heater core is blocked u will have to take it out and find out y it is blocked. the valve could be stuck closed or something is blocking it. but more than likely it is the valve that has frozen up. If its a thermastat issue u will have to replace the thermostate unit on the display cluster

check the blower box linkage running from the hot/cold selector switch to the underneath linkage on the blower box, and check that all the linkages under the blower box are moving together, i've seen them come apart and cause this exact problem. You could also have an air pocket in the heater core. Take off your radiator cap and let the car run for about 10 minutes and fill the radiator as the cooling system bleeds itself (air bubbles come out). There is also a linkage that runs from the blower box to the engine bay that opens and closes the heater core valve and that may be disconnected.

I had the same problem with the rear doors on my 98 EX. If you pull the door panel you'll see there is a plastic clip holding the rod to the exterior door handle on the inside. Those are pretty common to break or crack, thus making that handle useless until its repaired. They sell the clip by itself at any Honda parts department and according to the guy I bought mine from, it's a common problem.
