when i had this problem it was my clutch not disengaging fully or fast enough.. most ppl will tell you that your syncro's are going out but this is what i think happened to mines..

I agree, I had this problem once my clutch started getting older... replaced the clutch and never had the problem since. Don't jump to any conclusions and automatically think its a problem with the syncros

i though it was my syncros also so i went to some [pejorative]get tranny shop and they told me that if they were going out that i would have to get my whole tranny rebult is that the only solution or are they swinging from my nuts
you can get a clutch for less than $150. i had one of those grip force clutches off ebay. it was great. i beat the **** out of it and never had any problems. then replace fluid with upgraded honda mtf.
Hey I have this symptom too! It only grinds at high RPMS, and not always, only when I shift too fast. If I shift slowly even if its at high rpm it doesn't grind. Can anyone explain if theres a way to check if the clutch is working properly or not?

If you can get into 1st gear without much trouble while the engine is on and you're at a stop, then the clutch is disengaging fine. Trouble engaging 1st from a stop is one of the more prominent symptoms of clutch disengagement problems.
If you shift "too fast" and you hear a grind only in certain gears then that typically means your synchros are headed out.

wow, im having the same problem as well on my cdn siR b16a2 tranny
grinds shifting to second, and grinds at high rpm in third
so its the syncros? how much are syncro replacements?

****, sounds like all you can do is tear it down to see how your clutch wore down.. make sure its still meaty.. Then move onto other possibilities... trannys are weird like that.. and cost a lot to rebuild.
know what it is before you make any moves.. Try changing your tranny fluid and see if it helps.
