Default 94-96 Center console w/97+ Ebrake handle?

So, I have a '93 with this console:

And I bought the 94-96 console:

But it doesn't come with the e-brake handle needed to do the conversion. But there are a couple 97+ e-brake handles on ebay.

Like this:

There is the obvious reason they are on opposite sides, but the shape/size looks very similar.

Here are pics:
94-96 e-brake handle

and the 97+

So my question, Does anyone know if the 97+ handle will for sure work or not work? I know I will have to fab a mounting bracket, I have to do that for the 94-96 handle too. If nobody knows, I plan to try it and post my findings with pics

TIA,
Will

im sure with any custom bracket it would work...just go for it and fab something up...like you said, either ways you'll have to do some fabbing...

The biggest concern I see with it is the size of the 5th gen e-brake at the bottom of it. it's a lot more bulkier in length than the 4th gen e-brake.

I'm not sure if it'd fit in the hole in the 4th gen console w/out either enlarging the hole in it or taking that big part of the 5th gen e-brake off. I'm if you took it off it'd fit in it no problem, and you could hide the absent part w/ a e-brake boot.

But as far as it working, I don't see why it wouldn't. They both operate the same exact way and in length and height, they are similar.

I think the 5th gen Accord e-brake is the most similar to 94-96 Prelude e-brakes. The 97+ Prelude e-brake looks like it would work, but it's a lot easier to find the Accord one.

Thanks for the replies. The mechanical part of the accord ebrake looks more similar, buit its ugly as sin! lol.

Look at the legs and the pattern of the ebrake holes itself. The holes won't line up. You can always fabricate it to work. Look at my console conversion write up. It shows how I used steel bars to bolt it.

does this swap ever have holes that line up? i did it in my 92 and after just eyeing it up, had my buddy weld it. much easier and much more solid. ive also heard of people pulling the bolts thru the body if you just bolt it.
