why is 5 lugs better than 4 lugger?
i think it has something to do with the car model...higher model, more power, accessories etc. i'm a vintage mustang enthusiast besides an itr freak, and the old stangs that came with 4 lugs were 6 cylinders, while 5 lugs were for heavier, stronger v8s...maybe the same goes for the b18c5, h22 etc models...
5 lug can handle more torque then a for lug.
I'm sure mech-e.'s among us can explain it in words that we can understand.

here's an interesting fact, you lose about .1 seconds if you change from 4 lug to 5 lug in the 1/4 miles.
the 5 lug is freakin heavy compared to the 4 lug drum set up
It's better because ITR's have 5, not 4. B18C5 has so much torque than a B18C.

96spec came with 4X114.3
Why?
Well, because ammortizing the costs of 4 lug with ITR sized brakes through an ITR sized production run will still be more expensive than using existing parts like those from Accord wagons and Prelude vtecs. Anything to save money that will make it possible to bring the ITR to the public. Otherwise the ITR may have been so limited that it may not have been released to us and made only for race teams....

The ITR being a purpose built "race" car, a five lugs wheel would be able to handle more stress during the hard cornerings of road race. I don't think it as anything to do about economics or the fact that Honda didn't want people to get there wheel stolen. Five lugs distribute stress better then four lugs.
I do not think that the ever so torqey Honda four cyl. can break a lug. Even the almight-b18c5.
JUN's turbo H22, possibly. An ITR b18c5? nope.
I think it's more for uniquness, set the car apart from the lower models.
