What tires for work equip 03 15x7 +38 on EM1? Dont want to stretch!!
whuttup guys. well the topic says it all. i will soon be getting new tires on my 15x7 +38 work equip 03's and currently have 195-45 on them. i dont like the stretched look. i know 195-50 also gives the stretched out look.
will 205-50's elimiate the stretch and tuck the rim? will the tires bulge out of the fender or sit flush?
i dont want to stretch but at the same time i dont want the tires sticking out.
thanks guys!

Well. Dunno about equips but I had 15x7 CPFs in +32 offset sitting on 195/50 riding with no gap in the front and about 1 finger in the back. It rarely ever rubbed depending how i drove and it sat flush with the car.

yeah cuz i dont wanna go with 195-50 on a 38 offset cuz it stretches the tire.
so if i were to get 205-50 on my EM1 and wanted to slam it pretty low(tire tuck) it wouldn't be a problem as far as rubbing the fender?
would i need to roll my fenders?

Even without rolling, 205/50-15 should not rub, as long as your wheels have the proper offset and you don't go crazy with the lowering (up to 1.5" should be no problem, even 2" probably won't rub).

195s aren't stretched on a 7" wheel, but if you want something wider and closer to the stock overall diameter the 205/50 is the way to go. If you go really low you will have issues with the tires rubbing on the pinchweld in the front. There are ways to fix that, but it's something to be aware of before you go out and drive it and tear up the middle of the tread.
ok so i am planning to drop it atleast 2.5 or so. basically sitting about 3.5-4 inches off the ground which is what it is right now with my whack *** 195-45 tire size.
i have seen 195-50 on 15x7 +35 offset and they stretched. mine is +38 offset, so would that mean it would stretch also?
so if i wanna get 205-50 and slam it, would i need to negative camber the front?

The offset of the wheel has nothing to do with tire stretch. No 195 tire will appear stretched on a 7" wide wheel.
If you lower it 2.5" inches you will end up with at least a couple degrees of negative camber. Not sure what you mean by "would i need to negative camber the front".

I have seen 195-50 on my same equips and the tire was stretched.
i just dont want to run into problems with the 205-50 as far as fender rolling or hitting the inside of the fender even though that is the tire size i want
well i know peeps who bought camber kits to purposely get the camber negative so they can drop the car more without the tire rubbing onto the fender

You shouldn't have any problems in the rear, you might need a slight fender roll. The fronts will rub on turns if you are low enough.
Not an EM1 but here's my hatch with 15x7 +38 205/50 and with 195/45

nice car. love the wheels.
so you have two different tire sizes for your ride?
yeah i pretty much want to lower around the same as yours..maybe a lil lower but pretty much to that spec.
i have 195-45 right now and i dont like it on my car. too think of a tire for me.

Those wheels came with the 205/50 R-compounds. I had no intention of driving on them, I just test fitted them. I prefer the 195/45s for my car(nsxtasy save the speech) but it sounds like the 205s are what you looking for. The fronts will definitely rub at full lock. You can either not drop it that low or deal with the decreased turning radius.
yeah true. i dont turn the wheel all the way that much anyway. will rub on the fenderwell or the inner fender lining?
i guess i will just try out the 205-50 cuz i hate the stretch look on it right now.
the guy i bought my equips from had an EK just like yours so i understand when you say you want 195-45 but definitely not on an EM1 thats for sure.
thanks i appreciate your help.
i hate getting smart *** replies and stupid comments but this thread worked out good! i appreciate it
hope you guys make it to eibach for any of you around here or not! LoL

Be careful about driving around without the fender liners. Without them, tires can kick up stones that hit the underside of the fenders, which can cause "reverse dings", dents from being hit on the backside of the fenders and look... well, you can imagine what they look like.
If you're not rubbing on the fender liners, leave them on.

Yes, if you drive over a lot of rocks and dirt etc leave them in. Aside from possible dings, lots of crap collects in the bottom of the fenders and in the rocker panels. You can cut the top section of the liners out and just leave the front and rear plastics to avoid this.
well i wasn't planning on taking them off anymore for many years but are you referring to my tires rubbing onto them while driving or just making the wide turns?
