Default Why Did YOU Buy Your RSX?

Just wanted to put this out there as I never thought I would ever get an RSX. In fact, I had never had any real knowledge of the car until I was presented with the opportunity to buy one. Once I saw it sitting there in the parking lot, it looked so sleek, it was like a puppy at the pound...and after I did my research on it, the only deal breaker I said to myself would be if I could fit in it or not -since I'm 6'3 and found sitting in the older model civics uncomfortable. However, the RSX is spacious enough to accommodate me and my gf, and again looks damn fly, so I had to go for it.

What's your RSX story?

Not that I personally have a problem with these threads, but around here on H-T they frown on them, and will quickly cast you over to clubrsx.

I bought mine because of 3 reasons. Type-S, 50k miles, $10,000.

Every so often you come across a car that you feel was made for you, or so i think. My beautiful milano red DC5 is just that kind of car. I was driving a 1991 CRX SI with a b16 swap in it for about 3 years and i was running into transmission problems along with some other minor "old" car problems and was just getting tired of it. I took out a student loan for the down payment and sold my car for 4k and started the modifications! I don't know what it is about this car but i love everything about it from its simple interior (big selling point) all the way down to its touchy transmission in low gears (04 type-s). Its some what luxurious, a whole new series of motor to play with, and its extremely mod friendly. So thats why i bought it, and although my insurance is through the roof, I've had the car for almost a year now and I'm always excited to get in it and drive and i absolutely love the way Honda styled this integra!

On a side note, with the money i sold my car for and more from working, i bought nitto gen tires, tanabe sustec suspension, 05-06 exhaust, buddy club header, buddy club shifter, password jdm CF intake with battery relocater, integra and Honda badges (not type R) along with Honda center caps, EP3 steering wheel, club rsx shift boot to match the wheel, type R shift ****, type R valve cover. In the mail right now on its way to me is my RBC intake manifold and 70mm throttle body and next week when spring break starts... K-PRO!!!!, and a tune from Central Florida Turbo. When summer comes around ill be getting a Excedy stage one clutch, Excedy 8 lb flywheel, and LSD (not sure what one yet), along with sway bars and strut bars.

I just got a really really good deal I couldn't walk away from, not to mention my gf said, " You look really sexy in this car" LoL I went to this car salesman down the road from me on a Saturday to sell him my Ek. Saw the Rsx sitting there, asked for a test drive, and ended up coming to pick it back up 3 days later.

Originally I wanted 2000 Civic SI(RED) during my high school years (1999-2003) and i let one of my friends know about this, well turns out when we graduated my buddies dad got him an electric blue SI, which was TIGHT!, but kind of messed up because he wasnt into the whole import scene, he liked MUSTANGS and Domestics ...LOL, anyways after he got that car I decided I needed to get something faster and I told everyone that i would get a TYPE-S, which i did and on a further note i rtaced him in his SI and i wooped him by about 2 cars...haha...VTEC PULLIN!

same story here, i originally wanted a 00 em1 EBP, my sisters bf actually bought the one that i wanted so after that it made me realize that i needed something different. although that si is nice he bought it from a private seller and the motor blew 2 months later. but yeah my parents knew i was bummed out so i told them i wanted an rsx like my sisters but the type s. they were kind of iffy with there youngest child driving a 6 spd. they found me one since the integra i was gona buy got stolen . but they got used to it, at first they wouldnt let me touch the car ( modding wise ) and i went against them and lowered it, after that it was downhill and they love every mod thats on it so far. my dad loves driving it, and he hates driving a stick

I was attracted to the body of the RSX and the power it had (the type s). I think it looks mean and attractive at the same time. I get compliments a lot about it plus i knew what a gsr with a certain turbo could make stock.. so i was a bit curious about how much power you could make with the typeS with a turbo stock. This is my second rsx-s. I don't like it as much as my first one because it wasn't as clean but i'm slowly fixing the mistakes from previous owner and i'm starting to like my rsx more now.

X4 dang i guess alot of people wanted the 2000 SI's haha they look sick when there fixed up i wanted one but i saw them with like 40-50,000 miles for about 15-16 grand and we went to an acura dealer to see if they had any like hondas coupes and i saw an 03 RSX-S that just came in it looked good aggressive and the leather interior caught my eye the most redline at 8 my friend saw that i kept looking at it so he told me "hey get this car you can make it look sick, make it fast and it's a 6 speed" i didn't know much about cars and sinse i like sports cars i bought it without knowing how good it looks fixing it up and the potential it had it was expensive but im happy with my that new and improve I-VTECH hits sooo loud! =P

i wanted a honda that i could finally start modding since my DA was just my dd so i narrow the choices down to 99-00 si, new si, 98-01 gsr, or a dc5. i was about to buy a 2000 si but decided not to cause of the hp and tq numbers. a week later i found my dc5 and bought it the next day.

well, i was originally goin' to get an 07 civic si coupe (24k, brand new) but were just way too expensive especially that i'm in college right now and havin' to pay insurance, car payments, rent, etc. would be impossible so then my friend who had an EP3 said to look at some use 06 type-s and got a very good deal (19k with 18,500 miles), and i had the car for about 5 months and i still love it like when i first got it.

So true.

It looks like everyone bought this car for the looks and then got "into it" after. Cheers to the RSXers

Actually CRSX has MUCH more technical information than this board does.(about the K series and RSX models) I reccomend it to anyone who owns an RSX. And I'm not a n00b to this site...

Anyhow I bought mine simply because I like the way it looks and my old Accord was wrecked.
