Vtec issue. HELP!
I just recently bought a b18c JDM type-r and swaped it into my 96ls.
I ran direct connections to the Vtec solenoid and knock sensor. The engine came with a ECU and everything is connected properly. I believe its a p72 or p98
The car is ground and no CEL is on.
Oil is full and there are no dents on the pan.
Vtec worked initally when I first ran the car. But it comes and goes everytime i stop and start the car. It is warm but my tempature guage seems to not work correctly. I unplugged the solenoid while the car was running and the CEL came on. I tested the solenoid by running 12v to it and it clicked. I am checking if the solenoid is clogged tomorrow but other then that I have no idea what could be my problem.

Well I took the solenoid off and cleaned it out. Bought a new Thermastat but vtec was working all day when the car was warm. I guess it fixed itself over night.

that is just a capacitor and has nothing to do with the workings of your car
