Did you use tube for the stem, or something solid like filler rod?

what material did you make the petals from? on the duplicolor site it say that the paint is for paiting chromed parts but i cant imagine you made that then had it chromed and then painted it. lol.

my point is, if you made it of regular old steel then maybe i can try painting some parts... not purple though. lol

nice work! i see these things made all the time. can i get a quick how-to writeup?

here is my guess ...

1. cut out each individual rose petal and leaf from sheet metal

2. custom bend them into the shape/curve desired

3. weld the petals together at the bottom (id like to see pics of this step)

4. weld flower onto stem, add leaves

5. paint

amirite?

I made my first one a few days ago and used this site for a how to: http://home.mountaincable.net/....html

I made it out of 26ga stainless, but even that is to thick (hard to work with). Mild steel will probably be easier to work with. I polished the sheet before I cut it all up and tigged the pieces together as I formed the bud. For stem, I used 1/8" rod. Indentations on the leaves, makes them look a lot more realistic. I'll try to upload a pic of it later.
