Got bored, made a rose for a customer V. Purple

what material did you make the petals from? on the duplicolor site it say that the paint is for paiting chromed parts but i cant imagine you made that then had it chromed and then painted it. lol.
my point is, if you made it of regular old steel then maybe i can try painting some parts... not purple though. lol

i misread like the fourth word in the [freak]ing paragraph. it doesnt say only chrome.

nice work! i see these things made all the time. can i get a quick how-to writeup?
here is my guess ...
1. cut out each individual rose petal and leaf from sheet metal
2. custom bend them into the shape/curve desired
3. weld the petals together at the bottom (id like to see pics of this step)
4. weld flower onto stem, add leaves
5. paint

I made my first one a few days ago and used this site for a how to: http://home.mountaincable.net/....html
I made it out of 26ga stainless, but even that is to thick (hard to work with). Mild steel will probably be easier to work with. I polished the sheet before I cut it all up and tigged the pieces together as I formed the bud. For stem, I used 1/8" rod. Indentations on the leaves, makes them look a lot more realistic. I'll try to upload a pic of it later.
