Default civic si NEED help VERY BADLY

i am getting a 1998-2000 civic si. i want to drop in a h22 with a h2b kit but i have read thread that it is not a easy job and you have to get or make a lot of after market parts and it is vert costy. i just do not know if it is worth it too. i have heard so many different things.
LIKE

1. you can not put on stock b16 transmission with the h2b kit and that you can.

2. you have to custom make headers.

3. you have to bye new drive axles even with the h2b kit.

4. you have to put spacer on the hood so it will fit on top of the h22 with the k2b kit.

5. that the engine weighs more so that you get under steer.

6.you have to mess with the starter brackets or get new ones.

7. you loss a/c and p/s when you swap motors.

I DO NOT KNOW WAHT TO DO!!!! HELP PLEASE>

anything would be heplful.

Answer to all the questions you asked: https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch This is the first time I have ever done this but these questions are beat to death on a daily basis. If you aren't smart enough to find the answers to these questions on the internet, you sure don't need to be doing an h2b or an H swap at all.

agreed. good luck with the swap

also..dont understand the urgency for this thread unless you have everything just laying in your garage or something, and can't get any shops or people to help you with it.

Sounds like you need to start with the basics. You want more power? Swap tn a Gsr and learn with the bolt ons and reasearch. You are not fundamentally sound enough to attempt anything like this. Or just boost the b16. Simple.

I'm digging your signature, Lol.

I agree with the above posters that there are quite a few articles written up on this swap, but honestly, unless you are buying a 99-00 SI SHELL, why don't you just boost the B16 thats already in it if you want some more power? It'd be alot cheaper, alot easier, and plenty of power.

haha some ***** wrinkle wrote that about some douche on the forums jk jk - but yea, i definitely agree with this...if the SI has the B16 in it already..start there. Boost that motor and if you aren't happy with it (which there really shouldn't be any reason to be)..then look for other swaps. AND RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!!

1) yeah...b series tranny mated to an h series motor= H2B
2)nope
3)b series cuz its a b series tranny
4)i dont think so...not 100% tho.
5)it weighs like 20 more pounds
6)not sure about that one
7)not always...most of the time you can choose to keep it or loose it.

i have never done an h2b but i have read up on it quite a bit...so good luck and your h2b kit costs about $1200.

This is often misinterpreted...

Yes, its only SLIGHTLY heavier,

but the engines weight is further infront of the front axle than a regular B or D series motor which makes the car noticeably more nose-heavy which causes understeer regardless of the weight being similar

actually i think its like 14 pounds but yeah everyone always says its sooo much heavier. come on guys...its 14 more pounds with about 40 more hp. i would not settle for a b cuz the h weighs like 14 more pounds!! the h2b is a great swap on what i have heard/read. OP go for it.

Again, the weight is further ahead of the axle than a B or D series, which can affect handling greatly over stock regardless of how little/how much. The extra torque is a HUGE perk though.
