Where is my VTEC OP wire ?!?
So i am in the middle of a H23 VTEC Build and was getting ready to do the VTEC wiring when i pulled the ECU and looked at the harness which already has VTEC Solonoid and VTEC OP wired. I found the VTEC Solonoid connector capped on the right side strut but cant find the end of the VTEC OP wire and am about ready to just cut it near the ECU and run a new wire.
Anyone have some insight on this? I have the HONDA service manual and Electrical trouble shooting manual which show the harnesses but the H23 and H22 are dif in the books and it doesnt list the VTEC wires on the H23 harness even though they are there (Have a 93 Si). Not to mention it shows the AT wires which makes it more confusing to read in the book...
I am including a link pic of the VTEC Solonoid connector/wire end and a wire next to it which at first i thought was the OP switch but the wire is the wrong color and the connector isnt right. Any chance this is it? if not what is it?

That blue connector that was capped off is for a test tachometer hookup. An under hood tachometer is needed when setting timing or idle so it is placed there for convenience.
ok that's what I was thinking also because the manual shows a connector for test tach there so would explain that. Any idea on the OP switch wire though? Trying to prevent having to cut open the harness and go digging if possible...
if i remember correctly... and this was a loooong time ago on my first prelude (4 yrs ago i think), i had a 94, and everyone told me i should have a baby blue wire which absolutely did not exist in my chassis harness. went to a junk yard and cut out an ecu plug, snapped one pin into my plug in my car (the hole was indeed empty for vtec), soldered to it and ran it thru the fire wall myself.
i think i actually had to do this for both the solenoid and vtec pressure switch on my 92. in my 94 i think i just had to do it for one.

thats the thing. both wires are already in the harness. the green and yellow vtec solonoid is wired and that baby blue one is also for the OP switch. I found the end of the VTEC solonoid wire with the connector but i cant find the end of the baby blue one. probally just gonna splice it if i cant find the end of it or cut open the wrap and see if i can find it in the harness before i drop the head on this weekend...

VTEC oil pressure switch is a baby blue wire in the big connector just to the right of the fuse box. The baby blue wire goes into the connector on the firewall side, but does not have a pin (or wire) on the other side of the connector. I recommend pinning it, but if you want you can splice into the wire before the connector. Here is a pic of where the plug is, with blue drawn where the press wire is
THANK YOU !!!
was kinda hoping it would have a connector like the VTEC Solonoid did but oh well, atleast now i can just splice that and get the connector from a junk yard or one of the part cars i can get my hands on.
