Default Honda 1999 CRV Egine Problem

I have a 1999 Honda CRV, I was told I needed a Short Block, I am not sure what that means, I was told it would cost $7,000.00, The car has 98,000 miles. This just makes no sense what they said to me can anybody enlighten me.

GOD DAM!!! 7,000 for a short block... somebody is trying to make some money... a short block is just the block by itself, no head, no tranny. just the block. a long block ( block and head ) at attarco is 600-800.

Long block = head and block

Short block = block only

A short block is the engine casing and rotating assembly which basically means it hold the crankshaft, rods and pistons. If you need a new one, your rotating assembly must be f_ck'd up, maybe try and find a used one, or rebuild what you have.
