what filer rod for welding 321 to mild steel or incolnel?
Anyone have experience? I'm headed to the welding store at lunch today but half the time they don't know what they are talking about. I'm welding 321 16g to one incolnel flange and one mild steel flange, thanks.
I've been reading up a little with the info that burns supplies with their material and they seem to reccomend a higher grade filler than the metal being welded. I normally use the 309l for 304 to mild steel but I was thinking I would have to use a higher grade when welding the 321. And incolnel is pretty common on racecar stuff, the guy I'm building a manifold for use to build all the trd atlantic series engines and says that it welds just like stainless but tends to warp a lot less.
