Default Problem using Non-Vtec Spark Plug Wires?

Hey guys, after finishing my d16z6 swap into my 92 cx yesterday I started getting idle surges, and driving it around there was NO POWER at all ( felt just like my cx ).
Some things that my friend said could be the problem was the fact that I'm running the D16 with my cx tranny, he thinks the timing is off, and possibly the fact that we're using non-vtec spark plug wires. Any of these sound like a reasonable problem?

EDIT: Okay so I changed my spark plugs and rewired my O2 Sensor and now it's a semi-constant yet high idle, we started the car and it lowered itself to 1,800 from 2,000 RPM's. After I drove around I noticed the idle starting to sit high again around 2,000. My friend said that since I exchanged my MAP sensor for the one that was on my cx, it might be another problem.

Check for vac leaks and how your vac lines are routed.

and Yes, you will need to use a D16Z6 throttlebody (And maf) and intake manifold if you aren't already as the CX ones are a MUCH MUCH smaller size.

Also, the CX trans KILLS power to a HUGE extent.

Thanks for the reply

I'll go and check the vac lines and everything again for the tenth time =P, but everything on the D16Z6 is original except for the MAP sensor that I ended up salvaging from my CX.

I'd look at getting a diff map sensor, cause i bet that is one of the issues with your idle.

Hehehe, ONE of the issues =P

I'll try to replace the sensor and see what happens. It's gonna be tough though since I just spent all the money on a new starter.
