Default 1st gen rear disc brake swap???? Anyone have info?

Does anyone have any info on rear disc brake swap options for 1st gen cr-v's? I am sure there is something out there that will work. Any help would be appreciated.

i've got an 99 ex crv awd with drums, i'm not sure but i think there are 1st gen's with rear disc... well if not then i think awd crv would have to look for after market and if front wheel drive, maybe prelude rear would work....hope this helps...

honda tunning fabed up rear discs on crv arms but it was custom and it wasnt even on a crv. they swaped the awd onto an integra. but you could follow what they did if you find a respectable shop willing. what they did was put the rear disks and callipers off an integra type r. they basicly took the drums off put the disc on slid the calliper over it then fabed the mounting for the callipers.
good luck and let us know if you acctualy do it. i want to do it so bad.

I have seen ONE person with it done but I cannot get ahold of him. I just stumbled across a 1998 awd MT... for basically 500 bucks.... It has a blown motor (cracked sleeve) and I had it running on all four with a cracked sleeve.... The heater core went out and it blew the headgasket again and she dropped it off at my house and now I have it.... picked up a b20b4 and a complete gsr swap BOTH for 700 last weekend.... b20/vtec turbo coming soon to an rd1 at my house. I have been looking for an awd manual transmission cr-v for over 5 years and I have only found one other one that I could remotely afford and I bought my accord wagon then instead.... Now this.... I am seriously stoked and I hope to start building it soon. Been busy with my other cars... I am having a BWM ballast and ignitors and TSX retro fit done to the headlights. And I have just landed some CTR/ SI civic gauges for it... Should be fun.

If you have FWD it's a swap from a 5-lug honda, but 4WD will be custom.

I thought about it, and just painted my drums flat black and put some nice rims on, and I never see the drums anymore

im looking into this upgrade now...
its just the weather isnt permitting me to go scour the
junk/salvage yards for a rear 5 lug disc set.....
97-01 Prelude, 02 up civic SI, or RSX would work
as it was pmed to me also you might look into acura legend too!

i need to get hold any of these rear disc so we could plan whats
the needed mods and parts for it, from what was told to me also
posted, we need to fabricate/make a caliper bracket...

be free to share anyone who have a good idea!!
thanks!

I would really love to do this because I freaking hate rear drums!! I even had old HT member "Brake Expert" look into this but I have not checked up on it yet. Hopefully soon he will have an answer since he has made many brake conversions possible.

I think it is harder to do on our AWD CR-V's than it would on the non-AWD CR-V's.

i think it wouldnt be that hard.. awd/2wd..!?
it just the same, the main thing concern is the caliper brackets!
it needs to be custom made/modified.. just a spoiler:

Oh well with one of those kits I am sure it is much easier than trying to use OEM parts, but then again aren't those kits usually expensive?

itr rear arms/hubs/brakes? bolt on and ride?

anyone know... bout to buy..

the prelude **** requires a custom bracket which i don't have the facilities to produce. and the ones that guy is selling the photos above seem for those 11" rotors on a truck with some ridic front brakes to match.

not looking to lock up the rears on off ramps.. just want normal teg sized rears..
