Is it coming from the engine itself? Is your car an automatic? Is it when the car is off? More Details...

its an 02 civic automatic about 240,000 kms. I am not sure where its coming from I think its under the hood. Its when the car is off after I drive it happens. I just checked and the noise stopped now, might of lasted about 5 minutes.

i also had a clicking noise in my car, a 2001 auto. my noise came from the shifter box when it was very cold outside. When its not cold theres no noise. I had no idea what the problem was...

its the metals expanding when theres heat, and contracting when it gets cold, hence the ticking sounds

It'd most likely be the metal in/around your exhaust manifold cooling. It's normal for that to happen.

its nothing to worry about, it only happenes when the car is off, its winter so the car will cool faster than the summer, your gonna hear ticks as everything cools off, dont worry about it.
