Hey guys, sorry for the off topic thread but my best friends GF just totalled her 2000 V6 mustang and the insurance gave her a check for $4,000. She has fallen in love with this Scion TC and my buddy has asked me if I could do some research on it for him since I know more about cars then anyone else he knows. She is trying to go pick this car up tonight because she found one wiht 29k miles on it for $10,000 in great condition and fell in love. While I'm researching on my own can any of you provide some insite on this car for me due to times sake? Thanks

I personally think they're realllllllly ugly and have poor craftsmanship. The interior feel really cheap. Plus, they don't hold their value for ****.

But if she likes it, I'd tell her to go for it. Happiness is worth something, and it can't hurt to have a g/f in to cars!

 

yeah. it's toyota... it should be reliable.. as long as its got some corolla or above techonology in it.. it should be fine... tercel/echo was failure..

 

TC is one of the Top 5 **** cars...look it up, no bullshit...had 3 different ex's with them...lol

 

I think they are nice looking when lowered, they have more power than civic ex, cheaper than civic ex, and are not bad autocross cars. This is just my opinion, I know were not comparing to a civic.

haha, funny but true... my GF has an 06 auto. bought it new has 34,xxx miles. i did hotchkis springs, looks pretty good rides almost like oem to hotchkis. its a toyota, and it has the powertrain out of the most dependable car is the world, a camry, look it up.. guys just look gay in tc's

I work part-time at a junk yard(auto recyling and dismateling station), and the most sold parts everyday are as follows...

1. Toyota Camry
2. Honda Civic
3. Honda Accord
4. Nissan Maxima
5. Nissan Altima

I'm sure we would be out of business if it weren't for Japanese cars. Bytheway, we have never gotten any scion tc's and we are the second biggest junk yard in all of New York City.

What a bunch of HATERS. I had an 07 Tc and as far as value and styling it is a fantastic car. They hold up to crashes very well too. If I didnt buy my FA5 I would have bought another Tc. The 08's are the way to go, because they offer more of the optional parts in 07 as standard for 08. Mine was an auto (the girls car) and it got just as good of gas mileage as the manual though it was boring to drive.

How are the motors weak? Yeah stock they aren't great, but they are quite boost friendly if you have the urge to up the power. True they are cheap cars thats why I got an 08 xb(same motor as the TC) as a DD & are considered one of the safest compact cars on the market.

Never cared too much for them. You can get factory rice parts. What more can I say?

I think almost every single one I've seen in the past 2 years has had injen and megan racing stickers in the rear qtr windows. They all seem to be stuck on in the exact same place/orientation too.
