spark plug gap closed?
for some reason my spark plug gap just closed and i cant even get 1 plug out and the rest were very tight.
so my question is how did my plug gap just close? is it possible for a piston just to tap it or can predetonation do this? i was just normaly driving along and my car just died it started though when i pushed it and popped the clutch and drove it into a parking lot. i took very good care of this car and run 91 in it even though it is stock. i had no other additives in the car. other than the tactrol that came in the feul i bought
please help i need to get this running, im in the midst of changeing distributors. so i wanted to see if there is anything else i should fix?

anybody have any ideas i cant figure it out and i have no spark, also the black wire that gose to the distibutor has a connection type thing on the end and is spliced into a blue wire. but the connector is unpluged and i dont know what it dose if anything?
chances are if your spark plug got wacked your timing belt could have broke or jumped a tooth. but more important is if it got a plug then it most likely got some valves too which sucks. my advice is check timing belt then do a leak down test good luck.

How would the timing belt falling off affect the piston - cc clearance? The spark plug is not the lowest point in the combustion chamber. This would only be the case if the pistons kissed the valves, knocking the valves into the spark plug and causing total annihilation.
Is it making any knocking noises?
I would be hard pressed to see any outcome of this beyond your engine being f'd. Something had to get in there to make contact with the plug, and if it made contact with the plug, it made contact with the piston, valves and all surfaces between.
Pull the plug and drop a magnet down in there, or drop a dowel or something in the plug hole and see if there's debris that dropped into the cc. Or you could just replace the plug and see what happens. If it's f'd, the damage has been done and you're not going to break it any further. Pull the valve cover and see what's going on there.

i work at a performance shop and we just had a car come in just like this all the plugs were smashed
heres what u do just pull the plugs do a comp. test and if u have low comp. u prob have a bent valve or two
amd yes it cause the car to not start
